True vents also have no water running through them. I am wondering if i can cut and reroute this upstairs sink drain down the basement wall and under the floor using 2 inch abs and tying the basement shower into it as wet vent drain before it ties into main drain. This is best implemented if a fixture rests close to the stack and the top floor of your home allowing the stack to serve as a vent.
